Just a quick note to check in on this, the eve of the most important of all days in China - New Year’s Eve. We are just a few short hours away from the first day of the lunar month ("Day 1" of the Chinese New Year) and the start of a fifteen day long celebration!
Our family has enjoyed our Chinese New Year's Eve feast, celebrating together at a local restaurant, and now we are at home relaxing and staying warm! We won't be up eating dumplings or setting off firecrackers at midnight...but we had fun ringing in the new year in our own special way.
Can't wait to give the kids their red envelopes tomorrow. Oh yeah...and the day of no cleaning will be great too -- don't want to tempt fate and sweep all of our good fortune out the door. That could bring some serious bad luck in the coming new year; something I want nothing to do with! :)
