If you are wondering where I've been hiding out since the first of the year, the answer is pretty simple...we've been in the process of doubling the size of our family! SAY WHAT? Yes, we use to be a family of four and now we are a family of eight. No additional babies. Or pets. How does that happen you ask? Read on to find out...
It all started with my brother-in-law and his family. They sold their existing home and their new home has not yet been built. In fact, the ground hasn't even been broken yet -- but the design is complete.
So, in addition to the four of us (the adults) there are now four kids in the house. Our nine year old, our five year old, their five year old, and their one year old. That's a lotta kids! ;)
They moved in not quite one week ago and we have all been having a blast thus far. The kids have loved having the opportunity to play together all the time and I have really enjoyed our family meal planning and dinners together. Today we spent the day grocery shopping and cleaning the house. The old saying "many hands make light work" really is true! We had a lot to do but had in done in no time.
Tomorrow we'll be relaxing, except maybe a trip to Kohls and/or Lowes. The kiddos will have another chance to get out into the new snow and do some sledding or build a snow fort.
I'm excited to see what the next six months (approximately) will bring for the eight of us!!
