Although this happened over one month ago, it is the first time that I'm hearing of this very sad news. I felt compelled to share in case there are others who also hadn't heard...
Dr. Ponseti, inventor of the nonsurgical method of treating clubfoot, passed away on October 18th, 2009. He was 95 years old at the time of his passing.
Dr. Ponseti's technique was instrumental in our daughter's treatment. Adopted at the age of 16 months, and born with a club foot, we sought treatment for our daughter from Dr's. Ponseti and Morcuende at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. His life work has made a difference in the lives of countless children and families, including my own, throughout the entire world.
Dr. Ponseti, thank you, and may you rest in peace.
