Ever heard this term? Yeah, neither had we until last week.
Our family made our last trip to Iowa City, IA, on Monday of last week. This was suppose to be "Fiesty Girls" last 6-month visit to see the wonderful folks at the University of Iowa for her club foot treatment. She had been out of her serial casts for 1.5 years, had had her last tendonotomy, and was only wearing her Mitchell brace during her sleeping hours.
As it turned out, "Fiesty Girl" needed one last tendonotomy and cast. She is a TROOPER! A real TROOPER I say! She had an exam, x-rays, the tendonotomy, and her cast applied without so much as a whimper. The real surprise, however, came when we looked at the FIRST complete set of x-rays that had ever been taken of her entire leg.
That was when we learned that our beautiful little feisty girl was missing her entire fibula!! WHAT????
So, the adventure continues...her club foot is looking great and "Feisty Girl" was actually discharged from Dr. Morcuende's care for treatment of the club foot. That was the great news.
Next...it is off to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare here in Minnesota to learn more about "Feisty Girl's" newly-discovered condition and what we need to do to tackle this next hurdle!
This little peanut is our sunshine. Her smile melts our hearts. And I'm sure if she were old enough to actually understand all of this she would definately be shouting...Bring - It - On! (And we are here to say...we are with you 110%)
