Mother's Day (A Recap)

Mother's Day 2012 has come and gone but I thought it still deserved a post!  Our Mother's Day "weekend" (as we chose to call it!) was a long one.  We started out of Friday night by celebrating my own day...

1.  The kids and my husband gave me some very special cards
2.  I received my long-awaited gift (pictures to follow!)
3.  We dropped "Little Man" off at a friends house to play for several hours -- which later turned into a sleepover.  That in itself was exciting because although "Little Man" had his very own sleepover several weeks ago at our house...he had not yet chosen to stay at anyone else house.  So this was a first.  (He had a blast!)
4.  "Feisty Girl," ran some errands with her dad and we picked out some beautiful flowers to put in our new planters for the season.

Then we got up Saturday morning, went to pick up "Little Man" from his friends house and then headed straight to soccer.  "Little Man" scored a great goal and two of his teammates picked him up off the ground while everyone else on the team was screaming and chanting his name!  After soccer we ran home so that "Little Man" could shower and then we packed up the van and headed out to visit Grandma "S" ... and Grandpa too.  We spent the afternoon and part of the early evening hanging out at their place and just enjoying each others company before we all headed out for a bite to eat at a burger-and-fries joint called "Fat Willies."  Interesting place...and fun.  The fact that I won $100.00 playing pull tabs might have made it just a tad bit more fun!  After dinner we loaded the troops back into the van and headed home.  (Oh yeah, and "Little Man" bought himself an 8gb iPod Touch on the way to visit grandma/grandpa -- with his leftover Christmas money and the additional money he received for his birthday.  He absolutely LOVES it too!)

Sunday morning we got up and did it all again...one last time...heading off to visit Grandma "G."  Again we went to her place, relaxed, enjoyed the nice weather, talked for a while, and then we took her out for brunch.  We helped her get some work done around her place and then relaxed some more before heading home to prepare for the coming work week.

All-in-all, a great Mother's Day weekend -- spent with all the people who love me and whom we love!!

The impromptu foot massage that "Feisty Girl"
decided to give me as part of my Mother's Day present!  (Ha!)

Beautiful roses...a dozen of them

My long-awaited gift...a hand-stamped mother's necklace
from Wheat and Wildflowers!!
