Today was the first day of school in Minnesota. Over the weekend we memorized bus numbers and lunch numbers, we reviewed our home phone number and home address, we even had yet another conversation about "stranger danger." We talked about being on our best behavior and being respectful to others. And, last but not least, we talked about what an exciting day this would be and, also, what we were nervous about.
"Little Man" was most excited about "seeing old friends" and was most nervous about "making new friends." (Oh to have that set of worries! :)
Mommy was most excited about her little boy finally attending the school he has long referred to as "the big school" and was most nervous about her little boy not remembering his lunch number or forgetting what bus he was suppose to transfer to in the afternoon.
All in all, the day went off without a hitch! Mom, who was obviously the most nervous out of the two of us followed the bus both to and from school. "Little Man" did awesome! He managed to stay on his morning bus until he got to his final destination (there were three stops in-between) and, after some confusion about which bus he was suppose to board in the afternoon, "Little Man" made it to his final destination in one piece!
Tomorrow will only be "day two," but I'm convinced he has this thing down. My little baby boy is officially a big 1st grader! (Sniff, sniff)
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you! We know you'll make a wonderful 1st grader!
