We made it just in time...alright, just a little late...for dinner but that was okay because we had decided in advance that we would have Christmas "Dinner" for lunch on Friday so Thursday night's dinner was simply burgers and all the great things that go with them. It was a welcome delight after all of the good food we had a "A&K's" house because we were able to eat as little or as much as we wanted.
After that, we headed off to Uncle "J's" house to open gifts. It was a late night and the kids were TIRED but they made it through the entire night without many "incidents" to speak of. The next morning we were able to lazy around all morning before having our wonderful Christmas luncheon with everyone. The kids played outside in the igloo that Uncle "J" had made before we got there and they loved that because it was HUGE -- I mean H-U-G-E. They also got a few minutes of sliding in before they decided that it was just to wet to be out there anymore. (At this point in the day the temperature had to be at least 35 or 36 degrees, which makes for a very sloppy day after you've received 12+ inches of snow. However, it also makes for a wonderful, stress free ride home!
Yes, that is a snowman on top of my vehicle and, yes, that is a snowball that later escaped my husband's hand and managed to make it all the way through the front door straight down into my parents basement...although luckily flew right past me!
"Feisty Girl" sportin' her Christmas morning hair-do!
"Little Man" and one of his gifts...chess and checkers have recently become a passion of his!
"Feisty Girl" and the gift that later became her 5th appendage...a Disney Princess Suitecase
